Baseball - South Ottawa Little League

2014-04-06

Spring is here - Think Baseball!

As the season has come to a close we are all thinking about spring sports.  Baseball is an excellent way to get your kids outside and play a game that is fun and social, and at the same time helps them work on hand-eye coordination, concentration, speed, and agility.

South Ottawa Little League has opened registration for its Spring (May-June) season.  Kids at all levels are welcome, and there is the chance to try out for competitive baseball in July-August.  You can register and find more information at: www.southottawalittleleague.ca .

Baseball is a low-cost ($110-160, depending on age) sport with dedicated coaches and parents, and includes many of the kids that you are playing for or against in hockey right now.   Many NHL players played baseball in the spring/ summer:  Ray Ferraro, Pierre Turgeon, Stephane Matteau, and Chris Drury all played in the Little League World Series!  Then there was Tom Glavine who was drafted by the LA Kings (ahead of Luc Robitaille!) before choosing baseball.

Hope to see you SEMHA hockey players out this spring!
