2014-15 Southend Season - Welcome back!!
On behalf of the Southend executive, I want to welcome all of our new and returning players, parents, team coaches and volunteers.
it was a busy hockey summer at Southend as we had a number of important projects on the go. We ran our first ever parent survey and received some very good feedback. A link to presentation of the survey results are on the main page and I encourage you to have a look and see what was said and how the association is responding.
We also ran a request for proposal (RFP) for apparel and accessories. We are pleased to announce that Houle Sports is now the exclusive provider for Southend and all of its members. Over the next few weeks, we will post more information on this new partnership including a link to the new Southend catalog, member discount, apparel day at the end of September at Jim Durrell and a Southend Night at Houle Sports.
At this time we would like to thank Lightning Blade for their years of work with us and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
We have also been planning an information evening for early this season on concussion awareness. This will be an excellent opportunity to hear from experts in the field.
Specific information will be posted soon.
We are also working with the City and a company (a great Southend parent and volunteer) to update our trophy cases at the entrance of Jim Durrell and on the Walkley rink. We will post more information as this project progresses.
Again, it has been a very busy summer for the whole team and we feel that the work we have done will be of benefit to all Southend members.
So, If you have any questions about the issues mentioned above or any other hockey issues, please refer to our executive contact list and get in touch with us anytime.
To all the players, coaches/team officials and parents, we believe this year will be exciting, challenging and fun. Let's go out there and represent Southend by playing hard and to the best of our abilities, cheering loudly and demonstrating good sportsmanship.
