Atom Sort Out Update and Ice Times
2019-09-17 - Atom AllPlayers have been sorted into levels and team balancing will begin. There will balancing scrimmages and practices Saturday September 21 at 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30. There will also be some parity games Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Dear Atom Players and Parents,
We have had a great start to the season with our first two weeks of sort outs. Players have worked really hard and demonstrated their enthusiasm, sportsmanship and level of compete.
I would like to thank all of those that have assisted as evaluators, on ice helpers and working benches. It is really appreciated.
Based on the first two weeks we have determined a roster for the Atom A team and will now turn our attention to creating 2 balanced B and C teams.
We have also identified the following coaches for the teams:
Atom A1: Rod Storie
Atom B1: Rob Levine, Leo Ianni
Atom B2: Steward Madon, Vincent Karam
Atom C1: Dean Smith
Atom C2: Darren Ricci
The coaches will be reaching out to those that have put their name forward as volunteers to identify assistant coaches, trainers and managers. Thanks to all of you that have volunteered to help out.
For Saturday, September 21, Atom A1 will practice at 13:30 on Walkley Arena, C1 and C2 will scrimmage at 14:30 on Walkely Arena and B1 and B2 will scrimmage at 15:30.
The two days of scrimmages for B and C will be focused on balancing the teams. As we work to balance teams, we will be moving players from one team to the other. The movement of players should not be taken as a reflection on any player. The moves will simply be done to try and bring the teams as close together as possible. Note, it is very important that we have all players participate this weekend so that we can see how the whole team plays.
There will also be parity games Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
-Atom A1 will play Friday at 18:00 at Grandmaitre
-Atom C2 will play Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at Sandy Hill
-Atom B2 will play Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Sandy Hill
More information on the times, locations and teams for additional parity games will be provided as soon as available.
Finally, we noticed that many players have grown over the summer. Please double check player's pads to make sure that they still fit.
