Mandatory Gender Identity and Expression Training
The Gender Identity and Expression Training is a mandatory course for all volunteers within Hockey of Eastern Ontario (HEO) this includes all Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Managers, Trainers and On-Ice Helpers. It is a free course and takes about 45 minutes to complete. Upon team formation, all team officials will have 30 days to complete this course, failure to do so will result in the official team roster not being able to be finalized. This will impact the permissions for volunteers to participate on the ice, behind the bench or in the dressing room as well as prevent any tournament registrations.
Note: This is a refreshed course which will provide team officials with education on Hockey Canada’s Gender Expression and Gender Identity Policy, discrimination based on gender identity and expression, the Ontario Dressing Room Policy, Confidentiality Statement and supporting documents, such as the Dressing Room Policy Implementation Guide.
