About Us

SouthEnd Minor Hockey Association (SEMHA)

SEMHA is responsible for the organization and delivery of the house league/recreational hockey program for all members within our geographic boundaries. In 2017-18, approximately 500 players on 30 teams in Under-7 (U7), Under-9 (U9), Under-11 (U11), Under-13 (U13), Under-15 (U15), Under-18 (U18) and Under-21 (U21) divisions play hockey within SouthEnd. More information on each of these programs can be found on the Player Programs page.

The SouthEnd Minor Hockey Association (SEMHA) has been involved in the community of Ottawa South for over 30 years. Our home arena is the Jim Durrell Recreation Centre, located on Walkley Road, just east of Bank Street in Ottawa. SEMHA is a member Association of the Bytown District, Hockey Eastern Ontario Minor (HEO Minor) and Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) and by virtue of this affiliation is also a member of Hockey Canada, the governing body of amateur hockey in Canada.

SEMHA believes and endeavors to ensure that minor hockey is a positive and rewarding experience. Players grow up together, become fit together, learn the importance of partnership and teamwork, and generally become better prepared for life. We as an Association our players, coaches and parents respect the Code of Conduct signed as part of Registration and work with the Hockey Canada Long term Player Development framework.

The SEMHA is run by an Executive which abides by a Constitution.  The Association also abides by the Bytown District Constitution.  T

The success of our Association rests on the efforts of our volunteers. For more information on getting involved, please see our volunteer info page.  Get involved! Volunteer!! Help out in any way you can.

If you have suggestions, comments or questions, please don't hesitate to contact members of the Executive.
