We are excited to welcome you to CASE hockey for the 2024/2025 season and look forward to getting the kids back on the ice.  SouthEnd and Canterbury continue to work towards a complete merger for the 2025/2026 season.

This article contains important information to make sure we have a smooth beginning to our season. Please read through to the end.

Player Registration - Registration will be paused on Friday September 6th 2024 at 11:59PM.  Tell your friends to register as soon as possible to reserve their spot for the upcoming season.

Important Dates

First Ice Times - Our Convenors will be communicating specific ice times starting end of day September 3rd.

• U9-U18 will start on or about September 7th  - conditioning skates

• U7 will start on September 21st - more information to follow

Team Pictures - we are looking to have these done in late October/November. More details to come once a date and location are confirmed.

Communications - TeamSnap

Convenors will communicate with email via TeamSnap during evaluations.You will be receiving an invitation to join your child's level team (eg. the U13 All Team).  Once teams are formed, TeamSnap will be made available to all teams for the 2024/2025 season.

If you have not received an email by the evening of Friday September 6th, please reach out to your child's Convenor. You can find your Convenor’s contact information below.

Over the first few ice times, Convenors will be talking to parents to introduce themselves and provide an overview of what to expect over the evaluation period.

Volunteers

A big thank you to all of our past, present and future volunteers for their hard work and dedication. Our kids are able to play hockey because of our volunteers.  As we continue to move forward to a complete merge of CASE, volunteers play an important role in ensuring the sustainability of minor hockey in Ottawa South. 

If you haven’t already identified yourself through the Player Questionnaire or the Team Volunteer Registration page please let your convenor or a member of the executive know your interest in volunteering for the upcoming season and beyond.

Coaches/Trainers - ACTION Required

Attention Prospective Coaches and Trainers - Hockey Canada has revamped the coaching credentials for New coaches.  Please review the attached Bulletin from HEO and ensure you are up to date on the requirements to be a coach.  HEO Certification Requirements Tool  

Head/Assistant Coach Application Process

If you are interested in being a head coach or assistant coach, you must fill out the application form. Coach Application Form

Equipment

Now is the time to do an equipment check on your hockey player.  One year is a long time to grow a few inches and suddenly the gear is too small.

If you have questions about equipment, please review the Equipment Guide on the Hockey Canada website. 

Goalie Equipment

CASE will supply complete goalie equipment for U7 and U9. There are no dedicated goalies at these levels.  Each player will have an opportunity to try out the position if they wish.

 

Dedicated goalies at U11 and up that need to borrow equipment will have an opportunity to try on loaner equipment.  CASE can outfit several goalies from U11 to U13. 

We have limited goalie equipment for goalies at the higher age groups but if we have it you can borrow it.  

Goalie Fitting Session - We will be having a goalie fitting session on Thursday September 5th from 5:30PM to 8:30PM.  Sign up here.
