Welcome and Welcome Back
We are excited to welcome you to Ottawa South hockey for the 2025/2026 season and look forward to getting the kids back on the ice. SouthEnd and Canterbury are working through the merger process with completion now within reach.
Hockey Gear
Now is a good time to try on last season’s hockey gear to see if it still fits or needs replacing. See Hockey Canada's Equipment Tips Guide for tips on fitting gear.
Gear Swap - The Annual Ottawa South Gear Swap is taking place on Tuesday, August 26th from 5-8 PM at Jim Durrell Recreation Centre. Feel free to drop off any gently used gear (no helmets or base layers please!) and/or come browse the inventory and take what you need. No donation necessary.
Season Start
Ice times will begin on or about Friday September 5th, 2025. Convenors will be communicating specific ice times in late August, early September via TeamSnap. Stay tuned for an invitation from TeamSnap, check your junk folder as some invitations get labelled as spam on occasion.
Convenor Vacancies
We are actively looking for convenors for U9 and U18. If you are interested, please reach out to Kyle Taplay our VP Hockey Operations to express your interest.
What Next
Be on the lookout for a TeamSnap invitation from your convenor. If you do not receive a link to join TeamSnap by September 4, 2025, you should reach out to the convenor directly:

Volunteers
The association is run and managed entirely by volunteers. Even if you are not a hockey person, we’re confident your skills can help the association be successful and grow.
Review the information at the link below and get started on the right path. If those roles don’t pique your interest, please reach out to Chris Farquhar our VP Administration and let him know you would like to help.
Becoming a Volunteer: What you Need to Know
N.B. - All volunteers must have a valid Vulnerable Sector police records check. A reminder that VSCs must be renewed every three years. Please check that yours is still valid or apply for a new VSC as soon as possible. Details on how to apply and a link to the volunteer authorization letter can be found at the link above.
Once you have received your VSC you must submit it to the New Ontario Screening Submission Portal. More information can be found on the HEO website with documentation and video instructions to complete the process. Vulnerable Sector Check
