Pewee A1 Capitals 2013 Bell Capital Cup Finalists
The Peewee A1 Capitals won the silver in the 2013 Bell Capital Cup.
The Peewee A1 Capitals were one of 32 teams in this year's Peewee House A bracket of the 2013 Bell Capital Cup. The team entered the tournament unseeded and under the radar screen - just where they like it!
Game #1 saw the CAPS beat the 6th seed Kanata Kolts 8-1. Game #2 was against 11th seed and Bytown rivals Ottawa Centre 1. The CAPS beat 'em 5-2. In game #3 the CAPS beat the South Dundas Lions 3-0. This put the team in the quarter-finals (game #4) against the 3rd seed Cumberland Dukes A3. The CAPS were flyin' and won 8-2. Next up was the semi-final (game #5) vs. the 7th seeded Nepean Attack. The CAPS rolled to a 5-0 win. This put the CAPS into the Championship game (game #6) at Scotiabank Place vs. 1st seed and Bytown rivals West End 2. Similar to a SENS-LEAFS game it was SRO (standing room only). It was a hard fought game but the CAPS came up on the losing end of a 2-0 score. The boys played the whole tournament with heart, desire and complete commitment to team play.
The team took part in the BCC Skills Competition and won 2 of the 5 skill categories (Agility and Team Relay).
This was the 4th of 6 tournaments the CAPS will take part in this season. They are now two-time Finalists and two-time Champions. Next up: Blackburn Tourney JAN 11-13.
The BCC Finalist banner will be proudly displayed from the Walkley Arena rafters and the BCC Finalist team picture will soon make its way into the trophy case at Jim Durrell.
GO CAPS GO!
